Albert Einstein
In 1999, Time Magazine named him the “Person of the Century”. His familiar face and eccentric hairstyle have often been used to represent a crazy scientist and absent-minded professor. His reflections on the question “What if one could ride on a ray of light?” have changed the face of the world. For ordinary mortals, the name Einstein has become synonymous with genius. Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879 in Ulm, Germany, under the sign of dreamy Pisces. His ascendant is in intuitive Cancer, and his Moon is in philosophical Sagittarius. The strong concentration of planetary energy in the sign of Aries at the time of his birth confirms his curiosity and childlike enthusiasm for his work. Nevertheless, several planets (the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Saturn) lie in his house of social status and career (10th), natural house of Capricorn. Mars, the planet of action, has an excellent position in the sign of stubborn Capricorn. This reveals Einstein to be an individual gifted with incredible strength, ambition, and tenacity. These are precisely the qualities he would use to fulfill his mission in this world, especially because his Mars in Capricorn forms a grand earth trine with Pluto in Taurus and Earth in Virgo. This emphasizes his creativity, enormous self-control, and ability to transform his sexual energy into creative energy, and shows that Einstein was not a typical, feeble Pisces. He receives very little from Pisces, with the exception of the gift of swimming in a world beyond reality, the world of the imagination. His need for solitude also comes from Pisces. He once said: “When I was five years old, my father gave me a compass. As I turned the compass, it always pointed in the same direction. I realized then that there was something in the empty space moving the needle. In that instant I understood that something deeply hidden and invisible had to be behind things.” This reflection, as well as his interest in what is hidden at first sight, are very common characteristics of his sign, Pisces. With regard to his schooling, the stars indicate great interest in mathematics and physics. He always tried hard to be right. This is why, beginning in his earliest years, he always came into conflict with authorities and other people with conservative minds. This is revealed by the powerful embrace of Mercury, planet of language, and Saturn, planet of discipline and limitations, in the sign of rebel Aries. His teachers assumed that he would amount to nothing in life. Because his questions would often provoke chaos in the classroom, his teachers tried to convince him it would be best to leave school. “I hated school (rather, the institution as a whole),” he said much later. “I could get by, but usually I was much more interested in the subjects that I learned by myself at home, Euclid’s geometry, algebra, integral calculus, everything that they weren’t teaching as required subjects at school. Finally, I have to admit, I wasn’t an easy student, neither at the lyceum nor at the Polytechnic. That’s why I was despised by my professors by the time I finished my studies.” – Is it true that he began speaking late and never showed any exceptional intellectual ability during his childhood? As the stars confirm, this is probably true. In fact, cold Saturn is in contact with Mercury, planet of language and reason, leading to belated maturity, causing difficulties pertaining to language during childhood and making comprehension more difficult. On the other hand, this gave him an enormous power of concentration and penetration into the essence of things as a mature adult. It is therefore not surprising that Einstein spent a long time asking himself: “If light is a wave, whatever its speed, the peaks and dips should follow. What then do we see? Is light stationary? Does time stop it? Would one remain as if on horseback, on the same crest, immobilized in time?” He found the answers to these questions and published the theory of special relativity in 1905, then the theory of general relativity in 1906. It was certainly not by chance that in 1905, Saturn, the Universal professor, was in transit in the house of intellect (9th) and triggered Jupiter, planet of expansion, and his North Node in transit touched the original Uranus in the second house of intellect (3rd). In the same period, Jupiter in transit triggered Pluto, planet of higher spiritual consciousness, in the third house of intellect (11th). This triggered the grand Earth trine and certain ideas coming from higher spheres of the Universal Consciousness took a material form. In 1905, Einstein explained the photoelectric effect with the help of the quantum theory. He received the Nobel Prize in physics for this in 1921. Over the course of 1921, Jupiter, planet of spirituality, in transit with Saturn, the Universal professor, strongly embraced in Virgo, in the place where the Earth is found, in his grand earth trine. Pluto in transit is close to the Ascendant and Uranus of Zenith. Nevertheless, Einstein remains best known for his theory of relativity and the equation: E = mc2 The energy of each body is equal to the mass of the body multiplied by the square of the speed of light (300,000 km/s). This is the most important discovery of the past century. It would change the face of the world. – How did he reach his revolutionary discoveries? At the time of Einstein’s birth, Jupiter, planet of luck and spirituality, Pluto, planet of high spiritual consciousness, and the original Uranus are found in the houses of the intellect (III, IX, and XI). This explains why his spirit knew no limits. His logical processes differentiate him from common mortals and made him a genius. Simultaneously, Pluto is in close contact with Algol (a star dozens of times more powerful than the Sun, 93 light-years away). This is the same star that Tesla had in combination with Uranus and the Ascendant. Algol is usually a bad omen. Nevertheless, for every bad there is a good, and the great discoveries of science are probably made with the benediction of Algol. The relationship between these three planets of the houses of the intellect bestow a unique intellectual power, broad-mindedness, original ideas, visionary powers, and the capacity to embrace the widest stretches of philosophy and science upon Einstein. His obsession with science can be best understood through a well-known anecdote. According to the story, Einstein was so occupied with his work that he was always late for lunch. This really aggravated his wife Mileva, who constantly complained about this, to no avail. One day, she served the food and called her husband several times, as usual. Einstein, lost in his thoughts as always and oblivious of the world around him, paid no attention to her words. Mileva became so angry that she went and poured a jar of water on his head. Completely soaked, Einstein smiled and said “Usually there is nothing but lighting and thunder, but today it rains”. – What do the stars say about Einstein as a husband, father, and lover? The Moon, symbol of feelings and the wife, is found in the sign of adventurous Sagittarius, in the house of work (6th). In addition, Saturn, ruler of the house of marriage, is in close contact with rational Mercury. This indicates that Einstein could not abandon himself to his emotions due to a strong sense of duty towards his work. Simultaneously, this shows that he required complete freedom from his partner. It was highly probable that he would marry a woman from another country, who had a different mentality, another religion, and a different way of life. As it happened, his first wife Mileva Marić, whom he married on January 6, 1903, came from Vojvodina. She was an intelligent and independent person, who did not conform to the traditional image of women in that era. She was in fact the only woman at the Polytechnic school in Zurich. Nevertheless, Einstein’s parents were opposed to this love affair, especially his mother. His mother was prejudiced against Serbs, and felt that Mileva was too old for her son, and that she was also physically defective. This is probably due to the fact that Mileva Marić was not Jewish, which bothered his mother the most. In a letter that Einstein sent to his mother at the time, he describes Mileva as “a being equal to me, strong and independent like me”. Here is what Einstein thought about marriage: “Marriage is the unsuccessful attempt to make something lasting out of an incident. All marriages are dangerous. I am a horse for single harness, not cut out for tandem or teamwork. I can love humanity, but once this love transforms into a personal and intimate relationship, it changes everything.” Such an attitude is reinforced by aggressive Mars in the house of marriage (7th) indicating that his union would probably not last very long. That was exactly the case, and his first marriage fell apart in 1919, after Einstein and Mileva had been living apart for the previous five years. He married his second wife during the same year: Elsa, his first cousin on the maternal side, and second cousin on his paternal side. However, he also kept his distances vis-à-vis her. Under the influence of his natal Venus, located in the sign of passionate Aries, he would be unfaithful to her with much younger woman in his later years. This is hardly surprising, if one knew in 1919, Jupiter, planet of luck, had passed through his Ascendant, thus marking the beginning of a new cycle in his life. – Was Einstein a man who knew how to show his love? Yes, but only a certain few times, as the stars reveal. In other words, the inharmonious relationship between the Sun, symbol of the ego, and the Moon, symbol of feelings, indicates imbalance between his professional life and emotional life. The Moon and Venus, indicators of an individual’s emotional side, are found in the houses of work and reputation (6th and 10th). This shows that he was never truly in love with anything but his work. However, the Sun, located in the sign of Pisces, sometimes caused him to be romantic, as revealed in his love letters addressed to Mileva Marić. – Is there any truth to the rumors that Mileva, a better mathematician than him, mathematically developed his theories? It is certain that she helped him a lot in the beginning. Mercury, planet of reason, is in close contact with Saturn, planet of restrictions, pointing to more difficult comprehension. Much later, what had been learned would not be forgotten. – Did Einstein believe in God? During the first world war, Einstein returned to the religion of his childhood, Judaism. But unlike his childhood, marked by a dogmatic attitude (he sang religious songs even when leaving for school), during his adult life, his ideas changed. He said: “Over time, I learned that there exists an order behind everything that we perceive but cannot penetrate. Everything points to the same religion. In this sense, I am a religious man.” In 1929, Einstein said to Rabbi Herbert Goldstein: “I believe in Spinoza’s God, who reveals Himself in the lawful harmony of the world, not in a God Who concerns Himself with the fate and the doings of mankind.” Astrology can explain this change. Jupiter, planet of spirituality, is located in the house of religion and philosophy (9th), indicating that dogmatic religious conceptions would take on a philosophical dimension over time. The conviction that nothing in the Universe is due to chance is precisely what pushed him to confront the beliefs held in scientific circles of the era, who advocated the opposite. This is when he made his famous declaration: “God does not play dice.” – Did living through the most tumultuous time in the history of humanity, the first and second World Wars, influence Einstein to become interested in politics? Because of his Jewish origins and the serious threat of death presented by the Nazis, Einstein was forced to leave Europe in December 1932 and settle in America. At this time, the stars entered the scene once again. Jupiter, planet of luck and expansion, was located in the house of foreign lands (9th), while the Moon, symbol of the soul, was located in the sign of Sagittarius, friend of foreign lands and foreigners. These show that he would find self-fulfillment and peace far from his home. He was greeted with the greatest honors in his new country. He declared: “In fact, I have never belonged to any country or state, or even to my own family.” In America, he was so popular that people would constantly stop him on the street and ask him to explain his theory. Eventually, he had a bright idea. When people would recognize him, he would respond: “Pardon me, sorry! I am always mistaken for Professor Einstein.” When it came to politics, the Aries in him could not remain indifferent, and Einstein was scornful of the rise of the Nazi movement. After the war, he tried to be a voice of moderation during the turbulent time of the creation of the state of Israel, and he opposed the anti-communist politics of the United States. In 1952, he was offered and refused the proposition to become the second president of the state of Israel. This is quite predictable if one knows that the Moon, ruler of his horoscope, is found in the sign of cosmopolitan Sagittarius. This reveals that Einstein felt he was a citizen of the world, and that attachment to a state and nation would mean losing his freedom, in his own mind. – What relationship did he have with his own children? Probably a cold and totally indifferent relationship. The fate of his first child, his daughter Liserl, born in 1902, when Mileva and Einstein were not yet married, remains unknown. He did not maintain any relationship with his eldest son, Hans-Albert, born in 1904, who became a university professor in America. His younger son Edward, born in 1910, was afflicted with schizophrenia and spent his whole life in a clinic in Switzerland. He was probably the victim of the Einsteinian genius chromosome, which often transforms into its opposite. Mileva, too, was no ordinary woman. As for his private life, Nikola Tesla probably came closest to the truth when he said: “Marriage for an artist, yes; for a musician, yes; for a writer, yes; but for an inventor, no. The first three must gain inspiration from a woman’s influence and be led by their love to finer achievement, but an inventor has so intense a nature with so much of it in wild, passionate quality that in giving himself to a woman he might love, he would give everything, and so take everything from his chosen field.” – Among the many scientists of the 20th century, why has Einstein become symbolic of genius? Intuitive Neptune, ruler of the sign of Pisces under which Einstein was born, is located in the sign of materialist Taurus. This allowed Einstein to pass his ideas from the Universal level to the material level. The harmonious relationship between Neptune and Uranus, planet of will, gives him the force to fulfill what his intuition inspired. In the converse case, without confirmed will, the imagination is nothing but a succession of ordinary images that eventually blend into the Great Nothing of the Universe. As for the reasons behind his success, he himself said: “I remained a child. I always asked the simplest questions that an adult would never ask: what is space, and what is time? Could God have created the universe any other way, or had he no choice? And, how would I have made the universe if I had the chance?” His soul left the three-dimensional world on April 18, 1955 and reunited with the Absolute as Jupiter and Uranus in transit were locked in a powerful embrace in Cancer, in his house of self (1st). Before his body was cremated, doctors concerned with material matters and inattentive to spiritual concerns removed his brain, hoping that future neurologists would be able to discover what had made Einstein so intelligent. – Did he find the answer to all of his questions? This remains a secret.
