Nikola Tesla
He gave light to humanity, and night was transformed in a day. Much like how Prometheus stole fire from the Gods, he dared to steal their lightning. Perhaps this made the God of lightning jealous and attempt to punish him by destroying his laboratory. He worked to transport energy without wires, establish possibilities of communication with Mars, and transfer energy through the higher layers of the atmosphere. However, he also had a practical spirit and was interested in applications of electric energy in agriculture, the dissipation of fog through rays, illumination of the ocean and perfection of radio communications. He was a humanist, a prophet, and an ascetic. Nikola Tesla was a man who was afraid of setting the sky on fire. Nikola Tesla was born on July 10, 1856 in the village of Smiljan, today located in Croatia, under the sign of intuitive Cancer. His ascendant is located in the sign of persevering Taurus and his Moon is in the sign of creative Libra. The most impressive aspect of his chart is that at the moment of his birth, eccentric Uranus, planet of electricity, discovery, and the future, is found in the Ascendant, associated with the dark star Algol, in Taurus. This is something highly reminiscent of Einstein’s chart. This is a convincing indicator that, from birth, Tesla would be a natural antenna for Universal ideas, and that he would always be oriented towards the future and novelty, enamored with technique and discovery. However, he would never be understood by those close to him. Everything that he said would be understood and eventually accepted dozens, or even hundreds of years later. This is why Tesla felt alone and misunderstood, and why his contemporaries considered him as an eccentric person best avoided. Algol is a star dozens of times more powerful than the Sun, 93 light years away. It is a bad omen. One believes that it has a destructive influence, that it stimulates processes of self-destruction in the person over whom it bears a large influence. However, every cloud has a silver lining, and the great discoveries of science would probably not have taken place without the benediction of Algol. In Tesla’s horoscope, all this is located in the sign of materialist Taurus and helped him to concretize his genius, and seemingly extravagant, ideas. In addition, as Taurus is the most stubborn sign in the Zodiac, his Ascendant in Taurus grants him patience and incredible tenacity in pursuing his goals. Due to the self-destructive power of Algol combined with Uranus, the planet of Divine will, in the sign of stubborn Taurus, there were many times when Nikola Tesla’s life hung by a thread. His parents had decided since his birth that he would become an ecclesiastic like his father. Young Tesla, extremely sensitive like all Cancerians, silently opposed this idea in his heart of hearts. In order to get what he wanted, he used his steel will and stubbornness and appealed to the self-destructive force of Algol. He fell seriously ill and doctors lost all hope of saving him. This happened when he was 15 years old, finishing his studies at the Gospić lyceum. The stars helped him with his plans. During 1871, Pluto in transit neared his Ascendant in the house of the unconsciousness (12th). At the same time, unpredictable Uranus in transit touched his natal Sun, provoking the desire to liberate himself from the chains of tradition. Also at the same time, Uranus sent negative vibrations towards his Moon and Mars, located in the house of health (6th). He recovered when his father renounced his intentions to make him a priest. Tesla would once again resort to this mechanism after he passed his baccalaureate and had to choose his future profession. He fell ill and remained confined to bed for nine months, sick with cholera. While doctors shrugged their shoulders in despair, he whispered to his father “I’ll get better if you let me study electronics!” And that’s the way it went. At the moment of his birth, the Sun, Venus, and Saturn were located in the sign of sensitive and intuitive Cancer. The Moon, symbol of the soul, was locked in an embrace with aggressive Mars, in the house of health and work (6th). Imaginative Neptune was in its domicile, in the sign of dreamy Pisces. All this led to incredible mental activity and a hyper-sensitive nervous system, as well as great pain in the soul that would seek solace in the clarity of thought. In addition, his sensitive mental system helped him to discover the relationships between things that were not discernable to the eyes of others, connect to the Universal Consciousness, and use his strong will to move mountains. He said one day of his hyper-sensitivity: “A carriage passing at a distance of a few miles fairly shook my whole body. The whistle of a locomotive twenty or thirty miles away made the bench or chair on which I sat, vibrate so strongly that the pain was unbearable. The ground under my feet trembled continuously. I had to support my bed on rubber cushions to get any rest at all. [...] In the dark I had the sense of a bat, and could detect the presence of an object at a distance of twelve feet by a peculiar creepy sensation on the forehead. My pulse varied from a few to two hundred and sixty beats and all the tissues of my body with twitchings and tremors, which was perhaps hardest to bear. A renowned physician who had prescribed me daily large doses of Bromide of Potassium, pronounced my malady unique and incurable. [...] I clung desperately to life, but never expected to recover.”
Astrology again provides the proof of its own truthfulness. Pluto, planet of hidden energy, is located in his house of the unconscious, indicating an enormous ability for recovery. However, man cannot tap this ability unless he is free from suppressed fears. Nikola Tesla is the proof that mental strength can defeat illnesses and problems. He is thus a positive example in astrology and for humanity. – Why did Tesla’s contemporaries think he was a madman? Once again, astrology provides the answer to this question. More precisely, eccentric Uranus, dominant in his chart and often presiding over great discoveries, also has its reverse. Uranus is the source of eccentricity in its protégés. One can thus understand Tesla’s need to be able to divide everything he did by three. One can understand why he calculated the volume of each mouthful of food that he consumed, why he loathed touching other people’s hair, why he had a foul taste in his mouth each time he threw a bit of paper into water. His phobia of microorganisms, which pushed him to wipe his place setting several times, is also comprehensible. In fact, it has long been known that the line between genius and madness is thin. But through the eyes of ordinary men, his behaviors spoke of madness. – Despite so many discoveries, he died in poverty. What relationship did he have with money? His house of money (2nd) is under the protection of quick Gemini, and even quicker Mercury is also found in this house. This indicates that he easily earned a living and spent the money earned even more easily, most often on his next research project. Nevertheless, on the subject of money, one must not overlook the fact that the cusp of the house of gambling (5th) is found in the sign of bettor Leo. This gives Tesla passion for gambling in his young years. Nobody can say what course his life would have taken if his wise mother had not acted first. His mother, understanding human nature, one day gave him a large amount of money and said: “Go and enjoy yourself. The sooner you lose all we possess the better it will be. I know that you will get over it.” She knew that human nature pushes people to seek what they don’t have and what is forbidden. – How did Tesla come to imagine his revolutionary discoveries? We point to Uranus in the Ascendant, combined with Neptune the visionary in the sign of intuitive Pisces. Their influence makes Tesla a conductor, an antenna for all ideas that have always existed in the Universe. He confirmed this himself by saying: “In my boyhood I suffered from a peculiar affliction due to the appearance of images, often accompanied by strong flashes of light, which marred the sight of real objects and interfered with my thoughts and action. They were pictures of things and scenes which I had really seen, never of those imagined. When a word was spoken to me the image of the object it designated would present itself vividly to my vision and sometimes I was quite unable to distinguish whether what I saw was tangible or not. This caused me great discomfort and anxiety. None of the students of psychology or physiology whom I have consulted could ever explain satisfactorily this phenomenon. [...] I soon discovered that my best comfort was attained if I simply went on in my vision further and further, getting new impressions all the time, and so I began to travel; of course, in my mind. [...] This I did constantly until I was about seventeen, when my thoughts turned seriously to invention. Then I observed to my delight that I could visualize with the greatest facility. I needed no models, drawings or experiments. I could picture them all as real in my mind.”
The stars reveal that it wasn’t by chance that Tesla devoted himself to research at the age of seventeen years. In fact, over the course of 1873, Pluto in transit passed through his Ascendant and triggered his natal Uranus, antenna of Universal Reason and protector of researchers. During the same period, Jupiter, planet of expansion, crossed his house of creativity (5th). In his research, Tesla arrived at a revolutionary discovery: our knowledge of the shape of a body is linked to the fact that light travels in a straight line. This is why the representation issued from light rays is entirely similar to the object seen. However, if the light had another trajectory, it would then be possible to see triangles as shapes with six or twelve angles. He said that human bodies are robots that mistakenly confuse the result of exterior forces with free will, thus coming very close to the teachings of astrology. He believed that movement and all other bodily activity are destined to preserve life. Though it may seem like we are independent from one another, we are in fact all linked through invisible links, affirms Tesla. This assertion is identical to esoteric teachings in all aspects. – Did Nikola Tesla have a private life, and what was his relationship with women? The cusp of the house of love (5th) is found in the sign of gallant Leo and its ruler, the Sun, are in close contact with Venus, planet of love, all under a good angle with idealist Neptune. From this arrangement come enormous sensitivity and a great sense of spirituality and aspiration to Divine love, immaterial and absolute. This also indicates Tesla’s gallantry in communicating with women. He loved the company of beautiful and intelligent women, kept correspondence with them, exchanged photographs with them and sent them magnificent bouquets of orchids. Three women were particularly competitive to attract his attention: Flora Dodge, Catherine Moth, and Catherine Johnson. Tesla kept friendly relations with the first two for a time. However, his relationship with Catherine Johnson was different. She was beautiful and intelligent, well-learned and friendly. However, she was above all else the wife of a close friend. Insiders say that her attempts to become more intimate with Tesla lasted for years. Nevertheless, Tesla pretended to notice nothing. – Is there any truth to rumors that Tesla was homosexual or self-castrated? The unharmonious relationship between the Moon, symbol of femininity, and Mars, symbol of masculinity, indicate that Tesla was a man of ardent yet fickle passion. To this combination is added the discordant relationship between the Moon and Venus, planets of love. In a man’s horoscope, this leads to indecision during key moments, long periods of abstinence, or even bisexuality. However, this applies to people with lower levels of consciousness. In Tesla’s case, it surely pertains to deliberate periods of abstinence. As to the castration rumors, the position of Mars, symbol of masculinity, in the house of health indicates that an injury or operation on genital organs was possible. On the other hand, one cannot forget that Tesla’s high level of consciousness and his degree of evolution was higher than that of an ordinary man. This is why he could use his will to control his body, as he proved on many occasions. In other words, such methods and primitive means of controlling physiological processes were not useful to him. In addition, the humanist and asexual Uranus in the Ascendant gave him the feeling that sex is something vile, and that energy thus spent is a true loss when he could have used that same energy to create something for the salvation of humanity. On the other hand, the ego is in disagreement with his emotions. The Moon, symbol of emotions, is located in the house of work and is in close contact with energetic Mars, indicating that he was in love with his work and would have felt torn between his work and a wife, if he had one. In his case, it was also possible that he would lose his wife in a strange accident. Perhaps because of his intuition or connection with Universal Reason, he once said: “Marriage for an artist, yes; for a musician, yes; for a writer, yes; but for an inventor, no. The first three must gain inspiration from a woman’s influence and be led by their love to finer achievement, but an inventor has so intense a nature with so much of it in wild, passionate quality that in giving himself to a woman he might love, he would give everything, and so take everything from his chosen field... It’s a pity, too, for sometimes we feel so lonely...”
Very frank, very daring, and very honest on his part. – What are the reasons behind his enormous success? First of all, he possessed an incredible will stemming from the influence of Uranus, planet of Divine will, located in the Ascendant. Secondly, immense effort—frenzied work followed by a few rare hours of sleep, an iron sense of discipline and great concentration. On this note, he once said: “When I was a boy of seven or eight I read a novel entitled “Abafi” [...] The lessons it teaches are much like those of “Ben Hur” [...] The possibilities of will-power and self-control appealed tremendously to my vivid imagination, and I began to discipline myself. Had I a sweet cake or a juicy apple which I was dying to eat I would give it to another boy and go through the tortures of Tantalus, pained but satisfied. Had I some difficult task before me which was exhausting I would attack it again and again until it was done. So I practiced day by day from morning till night. At first it called for a vigorous mental effort directed against disposition and desire, but as years went by the conflict lessened and finally my will and wish became identical. They are so today, and in this lies the secret of whatever success I have achieved.”
Nikola Tesla passed his last days alone in his hotel room, spiritually strong and physically weak. He refused the advice of his doctors and visits from friends. When Pluto in transit sent hostile vibrations towards his natal Pluto, while Jupiter in transit touched his natal Sun, the soul of the genius liberated itself from the chains of the body and material world. The lifeless body of Nikola Tesla was found by the hotel maid on January 8, 1943. The medical report indicates that his death took place naturally, due to old age. He appeared calm, as if he was resting, a faint smile on his gaunt face. The genius died as he lived, alone. Some sources revealed later that he was poisoned by secret service agents who wanted to get a hold of his research notes. Astrology reveals that this was highly probable. However, this will remain a great mystery. Some of his discoveries will only see the light of day when man’s consciousness has sufficiently matured to prevent their use against Universal Laws and for destructive purposes. According to the teachings of Astrology, this will be take place during the Age of Capricorn, which will begin in about 2,160 years.
